Congratulations to Rogério Ceni, who chose to speak about refereeing even after winning.
The coach said:
“We need to let the referee work with more tranquility. Brazilian players are very annoying (or ‘very fussy’), and so are the coaches. Goalkeepers waste time, everyone complains too much. We need to provide better conditions and professionalize the sector (…) VAR makes too many mistakes, delays the game, and interferes where it shouldn’t. They have every angle, and still, they commit many blunders. The referee has several voices in his ear and ends up getting lost.”
In his speech, he also defended a “safer remuneration” (a decent salary, so they don’t have to depend on match assignments) and better structure for training.
