Anyone who prays the family rosary knows this Marian devotion well: at the foot of the small chapel, prayers are offered to the Mother of Jesus under this beautiful invocation celebrated on this 22nd day:
PRAYER TO OUR LADY, MOTHER, QUEEN AND THRICE ADMIRABLE VICTOR OF SCHOENSTATT
Beloved Mother, Queen and Admirable Victor of Schoenstatt! With enlightened trust, I come to you to receive your help in my great affliction; for your Divine Son, on the cross, gave you to me as my mother, also directing to me the words: “Behold your Mother!” And to you he said: “Behold your son!”. What a consolation for me to receive you as my Mother! That is why I turn to you in my great suffering.
You know my heavy cross well. I ask you with trust, to help me, O great Mother and Thrice Admirable Queen of Schoenstatt, for it has never been heard that any of your children who sought refuge in you was abandoned. You yourself felt the weight and affliction of life! You stood at the foot of the cross, as the Mother of Sorrows. And will you not now answer my request, when I entrust my suffering to you, a suppliant?
No, never! You are the health of the sick, the consolation of the afflicted, the help of Christians. However, the fact that you are called “Thrice Admirable Mother Queen” inspires in me a special trust. This honorable title expresses that you are admirable always and everywhere. Intercede, then, with your beloved Son, so that He may answer me. And, eternally, I want to sing your Magnificat, blessing the mercies of the Lord. Amen.
