O ex-árbitro Leonardo Gaciba foi contratado pelo Cruzeiro, para ser Assessor da Presidência.
Segundo ele:
– É um trabalho bem amplo. É importante levar um pouco dessa experiência que a gente teve dentro da arbitragem, como a parte de regras do jogo, o modo de funcionamento do árbitro de vídeo, os diferentes perfis. Poder representar o Cruzeiro dentro das reuniões com a própria arbitragem. Fazer algumas análises dos jogos, dessa parte disciplinar, cartões, enfim, ter esse controle total para poder dar cada vez melhores condições para que o professor Jardim consiga tocar a sua função da melhor forma possível.
Anos atrás, o ex-árbitro Wagner “Pinguim” Tardelli foi contratado pelo Atlético Mineiro para orientar os jogadores sobre a arbitragem. Foi naquela oportunidade em que, sabendo que não existia impedimento em cobrança de lateral, Ronaldinho Gaúcho foi à linha de fundo “fingir que beberia água” e recebeu a bola em condição de fazer o gol. Eliminou o SPFC e, no mesmo ano, venceu a Libertadores.
Eu defendo algo parecido: um ex-árbitro em cada clube de futebol, ensinando as regras do jogo, otimizando jogadas possíveis, ajudando a evitar cartões, orientando as categorias de base e possibilitando essa vantagem competitiva – a de conhecer a regra – para jogadores e treinadores. Com tantos gastos milionários que os clubes têm em atletas que muitas vezes não rendem, um ex-árbitro seria um investimento de baixo valor, mas muita valia.
