Eu pensei no meu querido Paulista de Jundiaí, e o último grande capitão foi Vágner Mancini no meio de campo, que liderava os jovens atletas em 2004. Naquela ocasião, o time do técnico Zetti perdeu a final do Campeonato Paulista para o São Caetano de Muricy Ramalho e foi vice-campeão estadual. No ano seguinte, Mancini assumiu como treinador e conquistou a Copa do Brasil (premiação da época: R$ 1 milhão).
Neymar é o grande líder em campo do Santos FC? Não é. Lamento desapontar os fãs, mas sejamos justos: o líder tem que ter controle emocional, e após 6×0 sofridos pelo Vasco da Gama, fugiu dos companheiros (órfãos de líder) e saiu chorando (alguns crêem que foi um choro midiático). O saudoso Zito deve estar revoltado lá no Céu…
Luciano ou Rafael, são capitães adequados para o São Paulo FC? E o capitão do Corinthians? Até Romero já assumiu tal função. No Palmeiras, aí sim vemos uma figura de liderança: Gustavo Goméz (pena que não é brasileiro).
O futebol brasileiro carece de natos capitães. E lembrando: capitão não é necessariamente o craque, mas o líder. Pelé foi capitaneado por Carlos Alberto Torres em 70, por exemplo.
No meio da arbitragem, os árbitros brincam que o capitão só serve para tirar o Toz e ser referência para comunicação coletiva. No “jogo-jogado”, não é bem assim entre os atletas.
Talvez a grande pergunta seja: por que não temos mais dignos capitães nas equipes? E outra: como voltar a tê-los?
